Here it is. My fist blog post ever. This is something I have
always wanted to do, but just have never had the time for and didn’t really
know WHAT to write about. But, with all the transitions and adventures I am in
the midst of, I thought this would be the easiest way to let people (who are
interested) keep up with me! My goal is to post a blog 1 or 2 times a week, so
stay on the lookout for updates!
Now for an update of my wonderful, crazy, transition filled life:
-May 7: I took my LAST college final ever
-May 8: Graduated from college with a degree in Nutrition
-May 11: Moved out of my apartment in Knoxville and moved back home to Memphis
-May 22: I packed up and moved into the Spring Hill Suites in Charleston, SC to serve as student staff with Campus Crusade for Christ until June 29 (my birthday!)
-May 24: Flew from Charleston to Dallas, where Josh picked me up and we drove to Waco for my best friend, Kasi’s wedding
-May 26: I was blessed and honored to be the maid of honor in Kasi and Luke Wallis’ beautiful wedding
-May 27: Flew BACK to Charleston, SC
So, here I sit, in the laundry room of the Spring Hill Suites, with my first load of laundry for the summer clanking around in circles in my left ear, as I try to think about what I should write on this blog post.
Some of you might be asking, what is Campus Crusade for Christ and what exactly does it mean when she says she is on student staff on a Summer Project in Charleston, SC? For the sake of the length of this blog post, check out the Summer Project website here: http://www.gosummerproject.com/what-is-a-summer-project.
My job as a student staffer is to lead a group of students (all ladies) in bible study, disciple students one on one, help plan the weekly social for the students and the women’s times, receive training and discipleship from a staff woman, and overall, come alongside the students and shepherd them as they learn what it’s like to minister to their fellow co-workers in the jobs that they will have all summer!
This is just a brief and fairly vague taste into what I will be doing this summer, so make sure to check back for more detailed posts about what The Lord is doing here in Charleston!
